Empire EP – Defunk

Hey humans,

This fresh EP by Defunk is definitely not one to miss. Bass heavy, sexy funk music will fill your ears for all 4 of these beautifully mastered tracks.  Shout out to one of Canada’s own, from Calgary Alberta, he has become more than just a local favorite; his tunes are spreading like fire around the EDM scene. I’ve personally seen Defunk throw down at festivals such as Shambhala and Motion, and highly advise anyone who hasn’t seen him check him out at the closest feasible occasion. As always head on over and follow him out on Soundcloud here: Defunk.

One Love,

These Days – Rudimental feat Jess Glynne, Macklemore & Dan Caplen (GRiZ remix)

Alright friends. I have a question for you to ponder. Why do breakup songs have to be sad or angry??? Why cant one be fun and funky? Rudimental must have thought that and made that change with this track. These Days is just a great mindset to have following a break up. The original is amazing in itself but GRiZ just takes this to a whole other level. If you never heard this song before you wouldnt know its about a break up until you pay attention. Your first impulse is to just smile and dance.

Thats what GRiZ does. The master of funky and happy beats never fails. It is great hearing some new tracks from him, even if its a remix. He adds his signature funky bass and sprinkles that delicious sax in just the right places. Were hoping we dont have to wait too much longer for some fresh original tracks from the king of “future funk”.  Until then enjoy this!

Aerial One – griff

Check out Aerial One by griff. The 10 track album is dreamlike with superb basslines. I deeply enjoyed moving from one track to the next, listening to each  unique journey from warm organic soundscapes to heavier advances. It’s kind of rare to listen to a full length album within the realm of electronic music and for that I seriously appreciated the virtuosity behind these 10 tracks. Big ups griff.

Krunk Temple – Mr. Moo

This song is crunchy and whompy and really quite weird,

and it’s made by a man who sports a fine beard,

who plays violin over top of his tracks,

while mixing and mastering – amongst other hacks.

Hailing from Portland his real name is Milo,

to the festival scene he isn’t so shy though,

playing numerous fairs near his hometown state;

I would love to see and hear what he might create.

Check out Mr. Moo as you will not regret it,

and if it makes you dance then please won’t you let it!
