Home Is Where The Heart Beats- Vibe Street

O hey there Friday, I have been impatiently awaiting your arrival and those Friday feel good vibes you always seem to bring me. As I took a stroll on Soundcloud to find the perfect match to my mood I happened to turn onto Vibe Street and find just that. Sexy, spicy, sultry and the most smooth sound filled my ears and I couldn’t help but fall in love. The fusion of Electro-Glitchy-Hip Hop and Bluesy-Folk put the biggest smile on my face and I couldn’t help but get up and rock out.

Ben “Smiles” Davis is the  genius behind the fresh new flavour he has coined as “Grass-Hop/ Future- Folk”. Whether it’s an intimate show or a late night dance tent, Vibe Street is known to get the crowd feeling just right. Denver, CO is where he calls home, but with a sound so diverse he is gaining fans from across the world and from all different spectrums. Give him a follow and fill your soul with a refreshing dose of originality that you so desperately crave.

P.S. I couldn’t choose just one track, EP or Album so here is one of each!

Planet Fruition- Isaac Chambers

Isaac Chambers, the small dude with big sound. This young music guru has more talents than I thought possible! From rapping and singing, to playing guitar, keyboards, percussion and programming to top it all off.  With a list like that it’s no wonder he has such an impressive variety in genres and sounds. From earthy Hip Hop, Downbeat, Reggae and World music grooves to full power Progressive Trance, Techno and House. His sound is unique, fresh and packed full of feel good vibes.

Hailing from the land of the Kiwis, Isaac has made quite the name for himself. In the last few years he has released two full length albums, five EP’s and over ten singles on local and international record labels. Known for his infectious energy, perfect production, and ability to get the dance floor moving and groovin’ with all the most positive vibes, he is high on my list to see live. Whether you’re chillin at home, jammin on a road trip, or getting stoked for the weekend, Isaac Chambers is your man. Press play, sit back and enjoy!

Late Night People – GoldFish

New music out from the South African duo GoldFish. Back in September one of my co-authors Whit did a fantastic write up of the single from this album – If I Could Find. The album follows suit with more funky, blues, instrumental, bassy goodness. There are even a few tropical house type vibes in here. Great vocals throughout and every track flows nicely into the next. This is a perfect feel good album to transition us back to the real world after a long weekend.

Maybe Whit will be a little choked I snagged this one, maybe she won’t. If she is, then maybe she’ll think twice about posting any new music from my future wife – REZZ. Muahaha.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Funk Jesus – TheFloozies

Brand new album out from TheFloozies . The duo out of the states does it again with their voice-box synthesized, instrumental cut, all over the place funky unique sound. This album has a little hip-hop, some feel good lyrics, slow jams, lathered with the classic Floozies funk signature.

These guys make me feel the way I think people felt about disco music when it first came around, but that’s just me. Enjoy!

All My – Humans (Smalltown DJs Remix)

Two rad dudes from Calgary who whip up seriously great music and know how to rock a crowd. Straight from the BIO off their website: “The Smalltown sound is fun bass-heavy house music, combining the spirit of Canada’s outdoor electronic music festivals such as Shambhala & Bass Coast, with the sound they cultivated at the legendary Hifi Club in Calgary (which they own and operate). The boys have released music most recently on various labels including Fool’s Gold, Sweat It Out!, Mad Decent, Main Course, and more. They have played shows across the globe from the Mad Decent Block and Boat Parties, to Fabric in London & U-Hall in DC, and Bestival in Toronto.”

I vividly remember their set at Motion Notion 2013, especially when they blasted Whole Lotta Drop by The Funk Hunters and Skiitour. I was in a wheel chair that year with a broken foot and bruised tailbone but this was one set where I could not stay seated. In fact, this post now MUST include that song, because it is easily one of the best songs of the last 5 years of electronic myoozik … and it successfully remixes Led Zeppelin – mad respect. I originally planned to post Smalltown’s Hooke Camping Mix, because it’s most def the best compilation of classic rock that I know of, but that mix is no longer available on Soundcloud soooooo I posted the tracklist for all y’all to sink your teeth into instead. That being said, I was torn between 3 different songs by these guys (Good People, Blow, and WIN WIN), so I decided to scope their page and discovered this tune for the very first time! It’s got that classic wobble and proper BPM to get your knees shaking and your head bouncing, along with some wicked vocals from Humans, two more classy fellas from Vancouver . Please do yo’ dam self a favour and listen to at least 2 tracks from this little excerpt. Stop reading, START LISTENING!
