Freemixed Nuts Vol 5- Scour Records

First of all I would like to wish a very Happy Birthday to the legendary Scour Records! They have been so kind to release this killer mimimix in celebration of turning 5 and damn is it ever groovy!

Scour Records is a wicked independent label that showcases and releases the creamiest of the crop all day everyday! The boss, the man , and the legend behind the label is Spinforth, which some of you may know as 1/3 of Hong Kong Ping Pong.

This mix is 20 minutes of pure gold, starring a very sick list of artists including WBBL, Mr. Stabalina,  Hong Kong Ping Pong and many more. Its funky, fresh and finger licking good. It will satisfy the taste the buds and the ears buds, leaving you in the best music coma you could imagine.

Hope your hungry!!

Stronger Than Me – Amy Winehouse (DJ Devastate)

To say that the passing of Miss Winehouse was a critical blow to the musical universe would be a massive understatement. Hate it or love it, you can’t deny her music as fundamentally raw, her voice unforgettable and her catalogue diverse and impassioned. I only started listening to Amy in recent years and I find myself coming back to her more and more often. Yet another musician that makes you wonder … what if she didn’t die,  where would she be today, how many more albums would she have put out, who would she have collaborated with, and how would her sound have evolved?? DJ Devastate takes on the first track off her debut album (Frank) and spins it into a sexy, silky, smooth rendition. Close your eyes, turn this one up, and please for your own sake have a listen to some of her original tunes.

Mini Mix- Jenny Louca

Jenny Louca…Who are you? Where are you from? Why have I never heard your music before? And how do you only have 20 followers!?

Within the first few seconds of listening to this mix I was hooked. That electronic bluesy harmonica sound is just so sexy and infectious it had me feeling tingly and wanting more. From the classic tracks by Stevie Wonder and Red Hot Chilli Peppers to beats you may not have heard before, these tunes will keep you on your toes, whether your listening for whats next or on the floor dancing. The combination of funk and swing in my ears is like eating my favourite home cooked meal made by my mom. after travelling for months and that is the perfect description for this 14 minutes and 12 seconds you are about to listen to. Get your speakers turned up loud, booty ready to shake and have a time!

Much Love!

Shadowbox Tour 2017- Beats Antique

Ladies and gentleman I have for you a unique, groovy, soulful pre made playlist for your listening pleasures. Beats Antique have created this collection of tracks they have collaborated with others on and music they have enjoyed over this past 2017 year. It is like no other playlist I have listened to. Zoe Jakes, David Satori, and Sidecar Tommy, this Oakland based group have made a genre of their own, forging a curious alliance between middle eastern traditions and potent west coast circus, underground hip hop, breakfast brass band, down tempo, glitch and dubstep.

If you are lucky enough to live in a city that this tour is coming to, first of all get your tickets, and second listen to this playlist as many times as you please to get amped up for the wicked soul filling experience you are about to be a part of. The first time I had the pleasure of being a part of a Beats Antique show I walked away feeling re charged and warm inside, exploding with all good vibes and so much love.

My favourite track off this playlist is Beats Antique- Let It All Go (feat. Preservation Hall Jazz Band). It’s crunchy, classy, and catchy with that swingy jazz vibe that is right up my alley.  Take a listen to this 31 tremendous track selection and choose your favourite!

Much Love
